The Ending of The Open House & The Bitcoin Friday Sales!

A reminder about land ownership and access after today.

Most of the game world is currently uncontrolled. Its land outside of our towns and homes. Starting on Monday all this land will be out of reach of physical changes unless its added to a town. You can walk around in it, but you won’t have the ability to change anything there.

How this might affect you!

Land Ownership

You haven’t started a town or join one yet? :( You’ll wake up to your Minecraftian self in a home that refuses to listen or respect its creator. At this point you’ll have to start a town in that spot (there and then if it’s possible) . Good Luck! This might not work out to your advantage. If this has happened to you – Don’t Panic! Check out how to create a town here. Take the opportunity today to settle in and make sure you are ready.

Access

The Bit Mines operates using whitelist memberships. Purchasing a prospecting permit is the normal method of gaining access to the current round at the Bit Mines. We love the diversity that Minecraft offers, and we want to make sure we get to experience the ever-changing Minecraft Universe too. With this in mind we built in life spans for our worlds which we fondly think of as rounds. This gives us the opportunity to do a few things for us and our players:

  • See if there’s anything so new in Minecraft that we need to regenerate the world to take advantage of it
  • Consider white list access costs and total Bitcoin up for mining in the next round.
  • What needs to be better? We get the chance to rebalance the game in very large ways.
  • It gives you a chance to step outside and see what else the world has to offer. :)

 

Bitcoin Friday! Sales & Pricing

The Bitcoin Friday Event (Sponsored by bitcoinfriday.com) has been great fun and I’m happy to see so many new faces!  The sale ends today on purchases made with Bitcoin. The Prospecting Permits will also be back in the shop Monday in case anyone is looking for them. For those of you who took advantage of the open house your membership is covered for the round.     This is a bit of a problem. With the “not being able to mine in the wild”, you can’t go caving, or get sand from the desert. And you can’t build at all in the nether without claiming. Some new guy joined and then got stuck in a hole and left because he couldn’t get out. The no-build rule needs to be removed.

      The open house was the introduction of the game world in concert with the Bitcoin Friday Sale. There may be additional game time in the future where the wilderness is open. You will need to use credits to annex land into townships in the current round. The Bit Mines is meant to be a game of land acquisition and mining for the return.
